Do I need a Telegram account?
Yes. Telegram is how Jek Luy knows who you are; it replaces passwords entirely. Tap Start in the bot and you're signed in. It's also how the group gets notified when someone adds an expense.
Does it cost anything?
No. Jek Luy is free, and there are no ads.
Can we mix USD and riel in one trip?
Each group has one base currency, chosen when you create it, but you can type an amount in the other one and it converts at a flat 1 USD = 4,000៛. Fixed on purpose — a live rate moving mid-trip makes balances impossible to explain.
What if someone only paid for part of the group?
Edit the split. Uncheck people, or set exact amounts per person. Leftover cents are distributed so the total always matches to the last cent.
Can I use it for flatmates, not just trips?
Yes. A group doesn't need dates. Rent, groceries and the electricity bill all work the same way.
Who can see my group?
Only its members. Access is enforced with row-level security in the database, so there's no URL to guess your way into.
